Alan Nemeth’s Last Seen

Last Seen partners renowned artists with vision impaired Australians to depict their most cherished visual memory.

Alan’s last memory is that of a construction site for World Expo 88 in Brisbane, when he was a teenager – not surprising given his love of heavy machinery even from a young age. Alan loves earth moving equipment and it’s the smell and sound of construction that he says excites him. He enjoys practising his woodwork and woodturning skills twice a week, creating bowls that he donates to charities. Alan’s people, the Butchulla people, are the Traditional Owners of K’gari (Fraser Island).

The Last Seen artworks were sold to help Queensland Eye Institute carry on vital medical research to save sight.
